Ratings

Where do I leave a rating?

A user will receive an email with a link to create a rating after an item has been purchased by a seller. Nevertheless, buyers can still leave ratings even if the seller hasn’t taken this step yet.

Ratings are only available for transactions that began with an inquiry.

What is the process for leaving or receiving a rating for a purchase made outside the inquiry system?

Reptile Room realises that sometimes buyers find ads on the site and contact sellers directly via text message or Facebook. On our site, ratings are only available for transactions involving a Reptile Room inquiry. That’s because we have no visibility into these transactions. As a result, quality control is a near-impossible task.

Are my ratings based on feedback from the Inquiry Survey system?

Store ratings are not calculated based on the positive and negative feedback received through its Inquiry Survey in the past. Ratings are based on confirmed purchases. Previously, only buyers could provide feedback. In the old system, users were obligated to keep their feedback confidential, so it can not be used in this way. Nevertheless, that data is still available and can be used in the manner intended.

How come my rating is not showing up?

There may be several reasons for this. To find out, look at your rating page. There may be a pending confirmation from the seller. It may also be on reserve.

How can I make my reserved rating visible?

In the ratings documentation, you can read more about what reserved ratings are and why they exist. Currently, you cannot do anything to make a difference.

Having ratings disabled will cause ratings to be reserved. They cannot leave public ratings feedback if they do not display their ratings publicly.

Is it possible to revise ratings and comments?

To leave a rating, users have 90 days from the date of their inquiry OR from the date the animal is marked as sold. The majority of purchases can be accommodated within this timeframe. An animal can be marked as sold to that user again if a seller wishes to extend the rating period.

When both the buyer and seller are still feeling the effects of the experience, they will leave the most accurate ratings. If there are disagreements, they are best resolved at the time of purchase. Other sites like Ebay may follow a similar policy for this reason.

In addition to protecting sellers from negative ratings about health issues that may pop up after the sale, we do not allow unbounded ratings. It is more the responsibility of the owner to take care of the animal once it has been sold, since the seller does not have much control over its well-being once it has been sold.

When a buyer fails to complete their payment plan, can a rating be created?

In this case, there is no completed payment and no delivered item, which are requirements of the ratings system.

I paid in full for an animal but I did not receive it. What should I do?

Winter weather can cause delays, especially when there is bad weather. If you have concerns about scams, you should contact us directly.

After I leave a positive rating, the buyer files a charge-back. What should I do?

If you receive an unprovoked charge-back, please contact [email protected].

I don't believe I was fairly rated as a seller. What should I do?

We have created the following options to address this situation, even though Reptile Room does not interfere with the rating process:

You should address the buyer’s concerns on the side if possible. In addition to revising their initial rating, they can also add additional comments and raise their overall score.
You should respond appropriately to every feedback comment that you receive.

To provide more details, create a thread in one of the supported forums and link the rating to it.

You can also rate the buyer, but it won’t affect your rating.

There will be times when even the best services will receive a negative rating. Consumers understand this and interpret negative ratings within the context of other ratings. To encourage other ratings on your items, make sure to mark them as sold.
